Irina Rajewsky as guest professor at the CIMIG

We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Irina O. Rajewsky as a guest professor at the CIMIG during the summer semester of 2021.

Irina Rajewsky is "Privatdozentin" (adjunct professor with a postdoctoral degree) at Freie Universität Berlin’s Department of Romance Languages and Literatures as well as Principal Investigator of the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School of Literary Studies (FSGS). Since completing her "Habilitation" in the field of transgeneric and transmedial narratology (FU Berlin, 2015), she has also held several positions as Visiting and Interim Professor, both in Germany and in other countries international contexts (e.g., Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, L'Università degli Studi dell'Aquila). Her main areas of research are narratology, inter- and transmediality, intertextuality, fictionality/factuality, meta-phenomena across media, author and narrator concepts, performativity; Italian and French literature of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. 

Her most important monographs include Intermedialität (2002) and Intermediales Er­zählen in der italienischen Literatur der Postmoderne (2003). She is also co-editor of Fiktion im Vergleich der Künste und Medien (2016) and Im Zeichen der Fiktion. Aspekte fiktionaler Rede aus historischer und systematischer Sicht (2008). 

Irina Rajewsky’s seminar 512.226 “Specialized Topics in Anglophone Literary Studies: Intermediality, Transmediality, and Storytelling in the Digital Age“ is eligible for the certificate “Intermediality: Theory and Practice.”
