Guest Lecture Nicole Perry

"Performing Germanness, Reclaiming Aboriginality"

Dr. Nicole Perry graduated from the University of Toronto with a PhD in Germanic Languages and Literatures in 2012 and now holds a Lise Meitner Fellowship at the University of Vienna, Austria. In her project “Performing Germanness, Reclaiming Aboriginality," she examines historical and contemporary reactions of North American indigenous peoples on German artists' depictions of indigineity.

She, furthermore, has recently completed an annotated edition of Austrian-American Charles Sealsfield’s letters, scheduled to be published this year. Other subjects of Prof. Perry’s research are Sophie von La Roche and Karl May.
