The Department of Comparative Literature in Mainz stands out by its distinct focus on questions of the internationalization/globalization of literature (focus on world literature) as well as on media-comparative approaches (including current issues of contemporary media culture/digital media), while being dedicated to the fundamental questions of the discipline (focus on literary theory).
The advertised position is assigned to the chair (W3) of “General and Comparative Literary Studies” (Allgemeine und Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft), which is newly held by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Irina Rajewsky since April 2022.
